| Hi everybody! I'm building the Aviano 31FW flagship s.n. 89-2001 and I need some help with the loadouts this bird carried during Op. Deny Flight. If anyone could give me some ideas I would much appreciate it. Thanks! |

Who's markings are you using?
Most likely 2 winders, 2 slammer As, a couple of Mk 82 LDGPs and a 132 short ECM. |

| Hi Scott! I'm using the Astra sheet (4807). I also found this picture but I don't know if is a loadout used in Kosovo, maybe you can help. By-the-way are those cluster bombs under the port wing? Thanks. |

LOL, you REALLY ought to wait a smidge if you want to do that jet
That looks like the right timeframe, and the loadout looks good...those are CBUs on the L side. |

| I think he means the 131, but they had the "deep dish" ones, not the ones i think some of the NATO Vipers use |

I hope it's right 'cause I really love the loadout, 4 AMRAAMs+ CBUs..... but did they used gbu-12 in Kosovo, so I could love it even more?..................
I"ve only seen pictures with gbu-12 for training or the ones they us in air shows on this jet.
Thanks! |

| I'm gonna throw in a wager on a pair of 7-round rocket pods for the left wing... they don't have fins and they look too skinny for CBUs. |

The left wing load is LAU-68's for sure- A typical load for 31FW during this period.
The Block 40's used to carry 2x GBU-12 on one side and 2x LAU-68 on the other during Allied Force.
The problem these days is that there is barely a good LAU-68 on the market - neither from ordinary plastic supplier nor aftermarket companies:-( |

| Thanks gents, guess I'll have to get Tamiya's A-1 J Skyrider for the LAU-68s. Any difference between the Mk.82 from the Skyrider kit and the ones used now-days, 'cause I could use those too? |

You also have some LAU-68's in Italieri's newest A-10A that could be used.
That said, please be aware that there are size differences between those in the Italieri kit and those in the Tamiya A-1 kit.
Wich is closer to the real thing I don`t know, wich is also the reason why I still have yet to make a model with these rocket pods on
Funny thing, the LAU-131 in the Tamiya kit correspond well in size with those you find in the Hasegawa weapons set
We really need some good, accurate LAU-68's from the after market specialists. |
