Then why does it say BF-01 on the tails?, you can see it in the ground testing video I posted. |

Because 01 = 1 numerically? Because they mean the same thing and someone may have thought that 01 looks better with the graphics that 1? I think you are dwelling into one detail which the guys who authorized the tail's artwork didn't even think twice about. |

I didn't notice that. Well, technically it is BF-0001, but I've always seen it written as BF-1. |

Naval aircraft need it in case they have an emergency right after launch and need to dump fuel to get down to landing weight and get back on deck quickly. |

I'm assuming that the fuel dump puts out significantly more pounds per minute that just running in MAX AB? |

I don't think so, too much back-pressure making that 90* bend.
Not to mention the spray/flame would definitely burn-through making a turn! |

No, nozzle down operation needs to keep the center of thrust and the center of gravity really close to each other.
On the Harrier and the VAK-191 the allowable variation between the two was about 2 inches. |

As far as I know pretty much all large aircraft have fuel dump capabilty, I know when we dump we can pretty much get rid of fuel at a rate close to 10 thousand pounds per minute. I makes a really pretty contrail also. |
