I heard that DynCorp International has been awarded the UAE F-16 support contract. They will be looking for all kinds of folks to fill positions at that facility in Abu Daubi. They are a good company to work for I hear. I know that there are always people that will find fault with any company. I have sent my resume to the company and I hope to hear something soon.

I would love to hear anything ya guys that have been there have to say about working there for the Saudi's, LM, and Dyncorp. I lost my job for spilling a gallon of glue on the floor so I think its time to do some contract work. Thanks.

This was a LM contract before. I heard that the LM boys could provide the numbers to support the contract. What I don't know or have heard is what it's like to work for the UAE AF. They could be SOB's to work for don't really know about that. If I hear anything more on the job front I will bring it to the place where the good guys hang out!

LM was under bid ..... less money ... good luck with that job.
I don't think LM was under bid at all, by looking at all the contracts that the UAE has and what Dyno does, I would assume the UAE thinks it would be easier to just deal with one contractor...After all Dyno does do little of everything. I don't think the UAE understands that Dyno would have to receive LM support to successfully do the mission and I'm curious to see if Dyno can do the mission as well as LM. Its a sham all this happened. Im curious to see what happens with me and many others. I was hired in pending contract win. I was ready to go as soon as the win was anounced, no one was expecting this. I guess this week i'll be given the bad news or maybe LM can work out a deal with Dyno ot the UAE.

Who ever is even thinking of Dyncorp as a good source of employment, think again. As a previous employee in the UAE let me enlighten you on a few issues.
#1 - You have to pay for your own housing, which in the UAE will cost you upwards of 15,000 U.S.
#2 - There is already a husband /wife team project managers - dumb as dirt and not trustworthy at all. They will bilk every dime out of you they can. For example a liquor license in the UAE to be able to drink will cost you roughly 200 dirham, if you go through the office to do this she will charge you over 1500 dirham. Another example if you mail a 1 pound package out of the office it will cost you the equivalent of 366.66 dirham - 100 U.S dollars. You can go to the base and mail a footlocker which weighs 72 lbs and it will cost you 65 U.S. dollars.
#3 - They will not assist you in gaining access to the U.S Base, so unless you are retired you are in bad shape, because you will have to do everything on the local system I.E. MAIL - which gets ripped apart or will take 3 months to get there. 85 percent of the mail coming from outside the country gets either lost or confiscated.
#4 - The main Dyncorp idiot in charge is a washed out pilot from the army, who was fired in civilian life at FT. Rucker who was also fired as a pilot in the UAE by the UAE. The only thing he or is idiot buds are interested in is their own welfare. They let shoddy work go by on the Apache's everyday. They do not want to teach or even repair the aircraft correctly because that may mean the end of their job. His wife is interested in one thing your money and how much she can get from you. They have some housing that YOU pay for upwards of 840 dollars a month plus utilities. This is for a one bedroom unfurnished right down to NO lightbulbs. You get an empty room, NO refrigerator, NO stove, NO furniture at all, you might get lucky an have a toilet that works. Oh and by the way she will be more than happy to pay your bills, she will not show you a bill or a rent agreement for the amount, but she will be happy to right a figure down on a sticky pad and take YOUR money and NOT give you a receipt.
5. - There has been alot of people bail on Dyncorp on the Apache program that were highly skilled individuals. The reason after it is all said and done you will be lucky to make 50,000 after you pay all you housing expenses there, this does not include your food or anything else. Abu Dhabi is a very expensive place to live in the UAE and good luck trying to park your car. Dyncorp does not want to do things according to the Tech Data, they will play the game with the locals about whatever is easier for them, and when something goes bad YOU will be the SCAPEGOAT.
#6. - So if you still chose Dyncorp - GOOD LUCK MORON

I am supposed to be under a 2 year contract to go to Abu Dhabi as Plans & Scheduling for Lockheed. Got recruited by Aerotek/DS2 in December. Signed the contract in January and was told I'd be leaving around Feb 15th to go to Fort Worth Tx, & then maybe to Tuscon Az. for 2 weeks each training before shipping out to Abu Dhabi. The contract looked great. 80,000+ tax free, paid housing, taxi money, per diem, vacation every six months with travel paid & benefits. Hell I had my bags backed and was ready to bounce. But they kept pushing the date back saying that Lockheed was still working out the details. Three weeks ago they said Lockheed was just waiting on the funding to come in from the UAE. Two weeks ago i got an email saying that things were about to happen and to be expecting a call soon. Last week I sent the an email asking for an update and got no reply. I finally called yesterday and asked what the hell the deal was and was told Lockheed got beat out of the contract and was on their way to the UAE to straighten sh*t out. They said they'd call me and everyone else they recruited to let us know what's up as soon as they find out themselves and if the contract is still good, i'd still be going if i'm still interested. Now I wish i would have found this web site a while ago. You guys seems to know more about what's going on then I do. Now I'm wondering if this is all a blessing or a curse. I sent my resume to Dyna Corp seeing as how it looks like they just took my job. But after reading some of you guys comments I'm wondering if that was a good idea or not. You got me wondering if it's all worth it. Lockheed was offering a whole lot. Or at least so it seemed. After reading some of these comments, I wonder if i made a mistake trying to leave my family home to make the big bucks overseas.
Holla at yo boy if you got some info.

I was hired on pending contract award with Lockheed Martin as well. I was told that there was a rumor that Dyncorp won the contract. I went to the Dyncorp website to check their press releases and it says they have won a land contract with the UAE. Nothing about them winning the F-16 contract as of yet. Lockheed still has all of their UAE job openings posted on thingamajob.com. I don't think they have given up hope but I would say that it doesn't look good. The contract was first supposed to be awarded to them in mid-November and then it kept getting pushed back further and further. The job package was very nice indeed. There is something out there that says Dyncorp was awarded a 62 million contract from the UAE for f-16 technical support. Nothing about it on their website as I said earlier. I started getting bad vibes about a month ago because it was taking so long.

Looks like allot of us have the same story but as the contract LM had sent us said "contingent offer" no official offers were handed out, they were all "contingent" No Dyno still has not put the press release on there web site nor has DS2 taken the jobs off there site. I do know LM took all there jobs off of there site late last week Dyno did in deed win the deal though and from what I hear they are offering 25,000 to 30,000 less a year. As for what "Dyno-bites posted above had to say, I'm not sure if I would listen to allot of that, I do know both LM and Dyno both offered a place to live free of charge and furnished. Yes there still is allot of hope from the guys there and allot of us here that LM will be handed back the contract. From what I hear they need 92 new body's plus what ever the number is that ends up coming home from there now. They are going to need well around 120 plus people, I'm not sure there going to get those kind of numbers in time for as little as is being asked for. As for me I'm going to take the deal regardless, I need the money, want the experience, love it in the mid-east, love the airframe, and want to put this contract as another notch in my resume.
As I was saying first of all, the offers they sent out to everybody were "contingent" (A possible or not unlikely event or condition)
