Hi guys,

A number of Aviano birds dropped into RAF Coningsby today and were inevitably photographed.

One of the birds... 89-018 had inert 120's on the tips (they all did) however this one was unusual.

One one tip was a 120B on the other was a 120C, blatantly obvious due to the different fins.

Is this standard practice?

Andy

There are no restrictions with carrying mixed versions of the -120s. You'll see it more often as -120A/Bs age out and are replaced by -120C's. We fly with whatever they have loaded.

Yes, it can be standard practice. Last time I checked the Langley jets were still flying with a mix of B's and C's also.
