Salute!
Hey, AT-breath, suggest you use Milloy's site or others as references. Too easy to mess around on You Tube.

I am a skeptic.
I am not a skeptic that climate changes. Temp goes up, temp goes down. Some years we have El Nina, other years we have El Nino. Our hurricanes in Florida are related to those ocean temperatures 3000 miles away. Not so much by Atlantic temps, as the big deal is wind shear at 35,000 feet.
I am definitely a skeptic that:
- The small amount of gases caused by humans can cause a catastrophic change in the climate. BTW, have you noticed many of the "faithful" don't use the term "global warming" anymore? Hmmmmmm....
- The small amount of gases that humans emit has to not only go to zero, but negative values to change the "climate" as the prophets of doom hope to do.
Then there's:
- Just one medium-sized volcano could undo all that we humans can do in 50 years!
- If the asteroid hits in 25 years, won't make no difference what we have done
- How do we convince the Chinese and Indians to convert to wind/solar power?
- How come we have eco-warriors that don't want a single tree cut down? Those things sequester carbon and produce oxygen. Then, 'cause we don't thin them and make houses, pianos, guitars, etc. they burn in huge fires that produce more bad gases than we humans in the U.S. do in a year.
And the beat goes on.......
I do my best to conserve - water, garbage, grass clippings, you name it. i compost, I use the expensive light bulbs to save energy and 'cause they last longer than normal ones. I can get 15-20% better gas mileage than 99% of the folks I see driving about because I don't try to get to the speed limit or faster in 5 seconds. So I'll match my "carbon footprint" with any eco-terrorist or Al Gore.
later, and I step off soap box

| Check out the wikipedia article on the destruction caused by the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo. Good article. I believe all of the eco-damage Pinatubo caused has since naturally repaired itself, however. |
