Thanks Strafer for the input. We locally-made HVARs that makes the LAU-3 a good loadout for COIN ops and LAU-10 with four 5-inch Zuni rockets. I had read a thread saying that Viper pilots don't want to fire rockets. Surprised

As for the gunpods, I select GPU-2/A 20mm and SUU-12/A 12.7mm. Smile

I've done before a Misawa-based Viper Blk. 50 and a PhAF OV-10C in an overall light grey paint scheme. Beer

My ongoing builds now are standard USAF Viper (i think the Hasegawa offering was a Blk. 25 Viper [item code E2]) and making me think If my Bronco will be USAF -A or PhaF -A... Cheers

The last post on it said that the LAU-3 was decertified for F-16 use- or at least US ones, I suppose.

-the paint scheme you've shown me was that of OV-10M, the four-blade version of our Bronco. I will sport that on my third OV-10 kit. For now, I'll be doing the USAF 'Nam version.

It's an OV-10A modified by the PhAF with a new engine and a four-blade Hamilton Standard propellers. I don't know yet its official designation.

They can act as FACs for the Vipers during an encounter or firefight, thus fulfilling their true role. Crazy Pilot

The Vipers slated for a special missions like enemy concentrations and leadership personalities may well be loaded out with a mix of GBU-38s, AGM-65s and GBU-12s with a Litening pod on 5R. But for CAS, they may well be loaded with a two of LAU-3s on 3 and 7 and a SUU-12/A on 5 Question

Yes! Like the USAF Viper loadout that killed terrorist Al-Zarqawi in Iraq... If i'm not mistaken, they used GBU-12 to kill him while "caged" in a structure.

I suggest not to load them with rockets because we should not let the enemies scratch a Viper's skin with small-arms fire...

Have you just read the Wikipedia article on the F-16, our country has just ordered 16 Vipers. If this is true, most likely these are either Block 25/32 or 30. Shocked

Wow... But i think that plan is still in drawing boards... We have lots of problems we are facing here, food crisis, political scandals, etc... So frustrating! Let's wait until PLAAF SU-27s make lock on PGMA's Presidential helicopter! By then for sure she'll demand for the upgrades or purchase of fast-movers for our country! Twisted Evil
