Twenty-eight Air Force and Navy ISR aircraft flew missions as part of operations in Iraq. Additionally, two Air Force aircraft performed tactical reconnaissance.

Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift, helping to sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa.

Approximately 133 airlift sorties were flown, 511 tons of cargo delivered and 4,177 passengers were transported.

That's def a boat load of jet fuel right there.. I seriously didn't know that many sorties were flying each day. Pretty remarkable. As more armed UAVs take to the air, as well as armed unmanned blimps even (for 24/7 armed ISR), the need for jet fuel will decrease and the sustainable deterrence will increase. They should be working on field/truck-launched fuel-cell powered armed UAVs too imo, if not already.
