Thanks Jochem!!
I have tried to show her in the configuration when participating in one of the "Red Flag" exercises held in 2001. Sadly 86-0260 was written off in a tragic crash on May 17th 2004 when she collided with 85-1555!!
I first saw her at Spangdahlem AB in the summer of 1991 and I have later gotten in contact with to of her Crew Chiefs during her time in the IN ANG.
Thanks for Your kind comment.
Greetings,
Henrik. |

Excellent Henrik, you captured '260 to a tee Nice and clean, just the way Rex,Dave,Mac and I kept it.
I'll be doing my '260 build using the Tamiya kit,not sure of what load I'll put on it,it'll look cool withe ONW load but I'm also thinking of loads we used at home base as well.I also have a newspaper picture dated Sept. 13,2001 that shows it with a CAP load with tanks,AIM-120's,AIM-9's and IIRC a LITENING pod, that maybe the the load I put on it. |

Thanks Jochem.
I had been an WW2 German armor and aircraft modeler lately and their finishes were dirty. I have three (one Academy and two Tamiya) Vipers in line. I plan for a What-If (Philippine) Viper for the Academy and build the two Tamiya OOB. Can I post the finished Philippine Viper in this gallery? |

I'm trying to get everything lined up for my build, should be starting to paint and glue here before long.
Here's one of the last pictures that I ever took of 86-0260,it was in the hanger getting getting some TLC.
Me in front of my favorite F-16,of course '260,in 1999.

Thank You very much, Racer for those great photos above!! Great memories.
Remember the story about the leaking German wine when delivered to Richmond, VA in late 1991?? Good stories.
Thanks and greetings,
Henrik. |

| Hey Dave! good to put a name with a face. So you're using a Tam kit for this one? |

Yup,using some of the Eduard cockpit stuff to "fluff" it up a little, maybe the Wolfpack intake since I'll probably botch up the kit one due the way it's made(I'd probably sand off the detail where the intake nav lights are).I'll probably detail the exhuast a bit more, thats a weak point of the kit in my eyes, just doesn't look right with the taper of the tail pipe to the AB rings, easy fix though.
The wheel wells will get the detail treatment as well, already have pleanty of wire to use on it!
Of course, all the later Block bumps will come off as well. |

"Rabbi" might have heard of the story,he was with the Virgina unit at one time,I believe when they first started getting them.I do remember when I sent it cross-country one time a bottle of cologne was,uh,broke while putting the pilots gear in the travel pod(he was only leaving for two days but packed for a months stay!),that travel pod probably still stinks of cologne to this day |
