One thing that has always bothered me about this site is the format of the Member List. When clicked upon, it goes to the "Joined on" members, in Ascending order, thereby always showing the original members first. Here's the problem: While some of these folks might have been the original members of the site, many of them have less than 10 posts. Many have never posted at all!

My proposal: Make the default page of the member list the "Total Posts" page in DESCENDING order. That way, the top posters are always shown first. I feel it's only fair, as we are the members who have consistently kept the site going over the years. Plus, the ones who post the most, are generally the best sources of information on this site. It would make sense to see their names first, in order to make them easier to find as a group.

Is it possible to make this change? Thanks.

I just think that a member list should reflect the "true" members, i.e., those who utilize the site the most frequently.

For example, let's say you're a bartender in Boston, named Sam (trackin' so far? Wink

) Who are you gonna give a free Beer

to? The guy who hardly ever comes in, or Norm? I'm thinking...

"NORM!!!" Cool

"Jack Frost nipping at your toes?"

"Yeah, and now I want Joe Beer nipping at my liver!"

I don't know. Maybe the reward should go to the guy who posted the most in one day. I think Su27 pilot is going to win. He just registered the 27th and had 22 in one day. Thats half my total in 4 years.

Way to much time in front of the computer. Whoops!! Time to go...eye sight going bad.

I lost track of the total number in one day, one week, you name it Razz

! I've had Stef and Lieven threaten to change my status from "Elite" to "Post Whore" in the past Laughing

At this point, I'm not really concerned with my total post count, but that may just change when I near 3,000. I still say we need PATCHES Wink

H0ORAH! I totally agree and I'm not that much of a poster anymore due tp being a 22 guy now. A Reserve 22 guy at that too. But I think that should be done plus how about we introduce we people progress? i.e. newbie, frequent poster, veteran, elite and give them different statuses much like when a pilot hits his 3000 or 4000 mark

Actually, i'm on here quite a bit, just reading stuff that catches my eye. I spend alot of my time on Fence Check looking at, and taking pics of the Vipers out here.

Scott, as for the show, i seriously doubt it, unless some of the Fence Checkers here plan on making a trip. I would like to though. Let me go over there and see if i can stir up some intrest.

I use this website to get all my fighter related news. If it's happened and I would want to know about it...there's something about it here. I have even used the forums here as source material for several of my embry riddle papers. I mean hell, a lot of us could be considered industry experts! I like the patch idea for posts! Those would be funny. Evil or Very Mad

I use this site primarily for everything, I float a lil bit on AFEF.com and military.com.

F-16.net is the better tho by far!

Or as an alternative....a JPEG of a patch to be used as an avatar (if they ever get enabled).

One o'these days when I've got all the chores done, I'll see what I can come up with. It's been a few years since I did any patch designin' and stuff. Wink

Just for fun, I sorted by Total Posts in descending order. Of the 159 pages and 7905 members listed (wow!!), ......ready........

... 4092 of those members have ZERO posts. That's about 52% of the registered members.

Not sayin' it's a bad thing or a wrong thing. Just interestin' numbers.

Exactly my point Link. 4092 so called, "members" who never posted. What's up with that? And to that end, many of them are still rewarded with having their names shown first. Why? Because they joined before anyone else? Nope. That Sierra don't fly with me. Time to reward the big guys on campus.
