Hi,
Came accross this picture at Keith Robinson's excellent photo site. No tail number visible, but I suspect it is 92-0457 judging by the names on the canopy. Could anyone confirm this? Picture was taken on 10 January 2008.
MTIA,

Yes it was 457 ... before long you won't be seeing anymore block 15 orange and white "Clown Jets". |

Joris,
As VarkVet says these ex-Pakistani Vipers are about to be returned to the PAF. The Edwards-based test units are currently seeing a large number of Block-25/30/40 aircraft - primarily Two-seaters - arriving as replacements for these Block-15s.
Greetings,
Henrik. |

To VarkVet: Thanks for the confirmation!
To Boman: I knew that F-16A 92-0407 had been carrying those markings for some time, but the picture clearly showed an F-16B, hence the question.
Regards,
Joris |

The current 412OG flagship is 92-0457.
Most of the Pakistani jets are being returned to Pakistan, but first must pass through Ft. Worth for de-mod work before their ferry flight to Pakistan. Four of the jets will return to Edwards to kick off the Pakistani test program.
Most of the replacement jets to the 412TW have been Block 50s and 40s from Shaw, Cannon, and Hill, most in their previous users' paintschemes. They will eventually receive the orange/white paint as they go through depot or re-paint.

Jake, do you know what tail # from Shaw has been or shall be transferred?
BTW, looking forward to seeing C/D Vipers in the white/orange test scheme |

89-2169---former 27FW/524FS, now marked as "AFFTC" flagship
91-0463---former 20FW/77FS, still in SW paint
93-0548---former 20FW/79FS, still in SW paint
90-0842---former 20FW/55FS, still in SW paint
90-0797---fromer 388FW/34FS
Several other Block 30/40 jets are fairly new arrivals. All of the above are assigned to the 445FLTS and not the 416FLTS.

Excellent Jake
Is the difference between 445FLTS and 416FTS that 416 flies F-16A/B while 445 flies C/D, or is there other differences aswell? |

The 445th is a general-purpose squadron, providing photo chase aircraft, TPS support(clown jets), etc, while the 416th is the dedicated F-16 test squadron. They have the foreign test programs, upgrades, etc.

When did this happen? The 445th FLTS has been assigned T-38 since about 1969. Yes, sometimes a variety of other aircraft like the F-4, but not the F-16 that I've ever heard of. I know they work closly, but never heard of assigned aircraft. Love some more clarification on this please. |

Are all of the 445th jets Orange and white? Just wondering if 86-0359 is orange and white now. |

Only the Coral Phoenix blk 15's are O/W ... 359, 118, and 11(swine)9 are gray. |
