i am looking for a good f-16 and a-10 model that can be used for gone aways and retirements. scale 1/48. i would prefer something on a stick that is already put together. thanks

Already assembled, well that excludes better model kits like Hasegawa, Monogram, and Tamiya for the subejcts you are looking for.

Really, no "plastic" models that I know of come assembled, ready to be put on a stick in 48th scale. The only 48th scale assembles models are Die Cast, which would be too heavy.

You're pretty much relegated those wooden and resin desk top models.

Yup, diecast is the only way to go. And unless you use a stone base, it will be top heavy.
