Dear Team Nighthawk Members
On behalf of the 49th Fighter Wing, I’m proud to announce the celebration of the F-117A Nighthawk retirement, appropriately named “Sunset Stealth.” The event will be a fitting tribute to honor the bandits, maintainers, program managers, and those significant individuals in the local community and worldwide who contributed to the remarkable success of the F-117 program.
We would like to extend a warm welcome and ask if you have an interest in attending our retirement celebration on 19-21 April 2008 at Holloman AFB, NM. There will be a welcoming ceremony on the afternoon/evening of Saturday, 19 April at the old “Nightstalker” hangar on Holloman AFB. Sunday, 20 April will be an event day spent around the Friendliest Place on Earth (a.k.a. Alamogordo, NM) complete with a golf outing and dining out scheduled. On Monday, 21 April we will send off the last four Nighthawk aircraft to Palmdale, CA with a ceremony at Heritage Park. This weekend will be one to remember for your lifetime, and I sincerely hope you can attend this event, a noble gathering for all who had association with the mighty F-117. I look forward to receiving your response and hope to see you there.

With your RSVP please include which activities you would like to attend (please include the # of attendees for each event). Once we have received the RSVP’s for interest in the event, the official invites will be sent out that will include cost and more finite details. We will only be able to send you an official invite if we receive your RSVP on time and with good contact information. Thank you for your quick response.
