I heard that the P-38 Glacier Girl and the F-35 photo shoot may happen this Friday (2/29) @ 11AM - 1PM
AND that there may be the possibility of a photo flight??!!
Anyone have more info on this?
Thanks,
Zane |

The only thing better would be the addition of an English Electric Lightning! |

| Yes, the Glacier Girl is coming to the plant, but I highly doubt there will be a photo flight. |

Even still, that's a pretty good photo op. How's my future office progressing? |

Now you put a smile on my face as memories come rushing back, the early morning ramp at Binbrook.
Sorry about the quality of the scan

| Sweeet! Really, the F-35 doesn't look very big compared to the P-38! |

That's what I thought too, those engines on the P-38 are huge. And who's that lucky fellow in the background? |

The photo is deceptive, isn't it?
An old Nova show called "Top Gun and Beyond" showed a side by side comparison of two different air superiority fighters on the tarmac and an overlay of their flight envelopes. The planes were the Fokker DR1 and the McDonnell Douglas F-15... talk about a midget and a monster!!! The difference of their flight envelopes in a 50 year span was astounding- I wonder what they would look like for all three Lightnings in comparison! |
