Greece will obtain F-16s by end 2004

January 30, 2004 (by Houston) - Greek officials said that 35 of the 60 F-16 block 52 fighters that were ordered have arrived. They are forming a squadron for deployment in the Aegean Sea and many of the aircraft will be based on the Island of Crete.
The remaining 20 F-16s (60 in total, 40 C's and 20 D's) will arrive during the second half of 2004.

Greece will use the F-16s to form the 115th Fighter Wing on the Island of Crete. This wing will consist out of the 340 and 343th squadron and one more squadron to be formed in the Summer, probably the 334th.
