Exercise Cope Tiger in its planning stage

December 15, 2003 (by Lieven Dewitte) - An opening ceremony at Paya Lebar Airbase in Singapore set the stage for Exercise Cope Tiger, a tri-lateral exercise in Thailand in February. Cope Tiger is a joint air exercise between the Royal Thai Air Force, the US Air Force And the Royal Singapore Air Force.
The exercise, now into its 10th year, will involve 89 aircraft and over 1,500 personnel from Thailand, Singapore and the United States.



The Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal Thai Air Force pilots will fly the F-5 and F-16.



The USAF will not deploy F-16s but only the F-15 and the F-18.
