F-16 makes emergency landing in South Carolina

July 29, 2003 (by Lieven Dewitte) - An F-16 fighter jet from Shaw Air Force Base made an emergency landing at Myrtle Beach International Airport (South Carolina, USA) on Monday morning.
The pilot declared the emergency at about 10.40h and landed without incident, said Kathleen Bergen, spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration's Atlanta office.

According to airport officials, the cause of the emergency was not clear.
