Thunderbird F-16 makes emergency landing

A USAF Thunderbird F-16 made an emergency landing at Quad-City International Airport, near Moline around 14:22h local time with a minor engine malfunction according to the Quad-City Times.
The aircraft is currently being examined in one of the hangers at the airport.
"It landed without incident," said Elizabeth Isham Cory, spokeswoman for the Chicago regional office of the Federal Aviation Administration. "The pilot reported engine trouble. It is being examined. It will be there until they figure out what is going on with that engine."
The jet was enroute to Battle Creek where the Thunderbirds are scheduled to appear over Saturday and Sunday during the Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival.
Cory went onto say that another F-16 from the display team escorted the jet in to make sure it landed.
Maj. Kirby Ensser, the pilot, said he was flying to the show and said "this was closest airport." He said the rest of the team continued onto Battle Creek and he expected to fly on to Michigan soon in another jet.
