MTC Tech delivers first Digital Video Recorder for the F-16C
October 12, 2006 (by
Lieven Dewitte) -
MTC Technologies announced the delivery of the first production Digital Video Recorder (DVR) to the U.S. Air Force F-16 Systems Program Office at Hill AFB, Utah.
The new device, which replaces an obsolete 8mm videotape recorder, will interface with mass memory devices to display colored video from as many as four aircraft in a flight. The system, by integrating in-flight, multifunctional and heads-up-display information from each aircraft onto a single screen display, will greatly enhance aircrew post-flight debriefings, enabling improved combat capability.
Additionally, the DVR system will be capable of integrating future information technology applications for the F-16 as well as other fighter and bomber aircraft in the military inventory. The initial production deliveries will upgrade systems for F-16 aircraft used by the Air Force Reserve Command.
MTC Technologies is a provider of technical solutions to the Department of Defense and national security agencies. The DVR Program is managed by MTC's Ogden Operations in Utah.
