The Bulgarian government has inquired about the options to purchase F-16 fighting falcons from Lockheed Martin, an official from the company announced Thursday.
The Bulgarian Armed Forces are looking to acquire 16 fully equipped jets, upgraded to the latest standards.
Lockheed Martin would like to offer the F-16C/D Block 50/52 configuration to Bulgaria, the same version that is now being produced for Chile, Oman, Poland and Israel.
In September last year, Lockheed presented an F-16 cockpit demonstrator during the Fifth International Aviation Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
