F-16 makes emergency landing at Syracuse

November 2, 2004 (by Lieven Dewitte) - An F-16 Fighting Falcon belonging to the Air National Guard's 174th Fighter Wing made an emergency landing yesterday at Syracuse International Airport. The jet blew two tires while landing but nobody got hurt.

A USAF F-16C block 30 from the New York ANG parked on the flightline at Syracuse AB.

Fire crews were dispatched to the runway yesterday after the pilot of the F-16 block 25 notified air traffic control that he was experiencing brake problems just three miles from the airport.
