Naturally, the F-16 and A-10, arguably the two finest combat airframes fielded by the U.S. Air Force, literally had to be forced on the Career Blue Suits in the Pentagon. I know what I am talking about since I read many articles and reviews on the issue I came across on byfiles search This country owes a tremendous debt to Colonel John Boyd, Pierre Sprey, and the other men who comprised the Fighter Mafia and Reform movement. Without Pierre Sprey there would have been no A-10. Without John Boyd, there would have been no F-15, F-16, or stunning maneuverist victories over Saddam Hussein in both Gulf Wars.
