My first assignment was at RAF Lackenheath 48th FW, 494FS(Apr'84-Apr87) where I was a crew chief on F111F's. I then was assigned to the 363rd FW 17th FS at Shaw AFB (Apr'87-Jul'92). I was the DCC on 84-1251 while station there. I was on the 9th AF demonstration team for 2 years (89-90). Deployed with the 17th to Desert Shield/Storm. I did the nose art on several of the 16's while there(War Wench, Blood Storm, Next, Night Stalker, Dr. Feel Good). I was the first crew chief to recieve a new block 40 F-16 at Shaw (can't remember the tail #, but I still have the Pratt emblem I pried off the engine casing). Seperated in '92 and wish I would never have left.

The guy's and gal's I worked with back then at the 17th are the best group of people I have ever worked with. We worked hard, played hard and had alot of fun doing it. We always took care of each other.
While with the 494th FW I took part in Operation Eldorado Canyon although my jet 379 broke hard in the chocks. I was deployed to Desert Shield/Storm with the 17th FS.
Tim, kind of funny how things work out isn't it, lol. I am still working for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft making these great jet engines for the F-16S, hope you are doing well, talk to you soon, Bob Zachariewicz Jr.
