Joined the USAF in January 1998, first duty assignment was Luke AFB, AZ 308th FS. Spent 3 and 1/2 years in what I would call "one of the best around," hard to compare each place to what I experienced with the Emerald Knights. Then it was off to Korea, Osan AB and the 36th FS "Fighting Fiends." Had the opportunity to work in a phase dock at the time was deemed "best seen to date!" Had a blast there as well. Then it was off to Italy, home of the Triple Nickel 555th FS, "Once Green Always Green." Traveled the world while stationed in Italy. All my hard work paid off and I was accepted to the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron, the "Thunderbirds." Started out on swing shift in 2004, Phase dock in 2005, #3 DCC for Major Nicole Malachowski the first female demonstration pilot in armed forces history in 2006, back to swing shift for 2007, and 2008 I earned the right to wear the coveted 8 Load Meatball as one of very few fighter crew chiefs that can call the back seat of their D model just that, theirs. Logging hours in the back of my jet is a dream come true, a testimony to hard work and dedication, once in a lifetime and highly recommended! Currently awaiting my orders to the 23 FS at Spangdahlem AB, Germany.
Current or Favourite assignment
Currently with the 23FS at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, don't know what I will be doin, hope it involves a truck and a radio!!
2006 #3 DCC, Major Nicole Malachowski becomes the first female demonstration pilot in armed forces history.
2008 #8 DCC, Logging hours with Major Tony "Split" Mulhare in the back seat of block 32/52 F-16s.
Deployments
In almost 11 years in the service I have been fortunate enough to have not deployed, the closest I've come is Turkey. I am looking forward to my first deployment to an AOR with the 23rd FS in Germany.
