From 2004 to 2008 was part of the 4th AMU "Fighting Fuujins" were up till the last 6 months I crewed my durty "D" model 90-0797 aka the Fuujin Bus. While deployed for the second time to Balad AB, Iraq they gave my jet to Edwards AFB. When I returned I was assigned to 88-0415. Now assigned to the 22nd AMU "Stingers" at Spangdelham AB, Germany with ACFT 91-0349 under my wing.
First deployment to Balad AB, Iraq was from January to May 2006. This deployment averaged 4 mortars a day. I sewed on SrA on this one. My Acft 89-2143 lost 17 buttons off the radome that keep it down for a month and a half, got to love supple. Second time around at Balad we may have had 1 mortar every 2 weeks. Shows we are making things better in the country. This time around I had to give blood and urine twice for testing do to one Acft catching fire on landing. I signed off torque links to days prior. The other time was for rolling a jet back on a guys foot that step back in to the path of roll. The tow super and I both saw him step away(he hurt himself two time before this). The 4th has been a great unit to deploy with. Both time we were awarded Meritorious Unit. I also recieved QA honor roll for both deployments.
