I joined the USAF in early 2001 and I have to say, It has been the most fun and most rewarding experience of my life so far. Things are getting a little rough these days with all the manning cuts but I have no regrets. I'm currently stationed at Sheppard AFB, TX assigned to the 362nd Training Squadron. (not in the f-16.net database BTW...even though every last USAF CrewDawg has, at one time, been a part of this unit) Life here is pretty chill. Things get a little redundant from time to time, teaching the same course over and over. At least I get new faces to look at every 65 days of training! If anyone scanning through these profiles sees this and is Sheppard AFB bound...hit me up, I'll be your unofficial sponsor! To all CrewDawgs of all nations past and present, thanks for all you do. To the future...I'll be seeing you.
Current or Favourite assignment
Ahh, the 389th FS. What a unit! It had it's little problems just like anyplace but there was something special about the 16's there. We were the only active duty combat unit to fly Block 52's with the P-dub -229's. Of course the unit is in the process of being disbanded right now but, I will always look back on my time with the T-bolts with fond memories.
Deployments
Nothing too special...
Qatar OEF Oct - Jan 01/02
PSAB OSW May - Sept 02
OSAN/Kadena May - Sept 04
Plus the all too common trips to Tyndall, Eglin, Nellis, Coldlake, etc...
One thing that sucks about Instructor duty...NO TDY'S!!

| Although no personnel from the 389th went to support OIF in the opening months of the war a few of our jets did go. The 389th and the Swamp Foxes out of SC were both in the middle of the CCIP upgrade. Well, the Swampfoxes got the call to go and wanted to take all CCIP modded 16's so, they borrowed some of the 389th, mine included. We were in the middle of a phase 2 exercise in an alarm red mopp4 when suddenly all clear was called and the exercise ENDEX'ed. Upper leadership told us to Gen up, I believe 6 total, for the SC guard! What a way to end an exercise!! |

| Crewed this jet while the 389th had it from the SC guard. See related story from my other jet. |
