Started out at Hill AFB in the 34th when the black nose was still around. Shifted over to the 4th where I stayed until I seperated from active duty in 1985. Went to A&P school in Tulsa where I joined the 507th FG at Tinker AFB as a traditional reservist. I got out for awhile and was convinced to join the 138th FW OKANG as a traditional guardsman in 1993 by a good friend that is still there. Moved civilian jobs to Ohio where I joined the 180th FW Ohio ANG. Transferred to Florida and joined the 482d Florida Makos.
DeploymentsMany stateside TDY's to Luke and Nellis, etc. Two months in Egypt with the 421st. One month in Norway (best TDY ever). Two trips to Incirlik for ONW. One trip to Kuwait for OSW. Forward AOR time in 2007 and 2009. |

This was with the 507th FG at Tinker AFB. Not positive about the Tail number. This unit has since transitioned to tankers.

I had a great time with this group. Gotta love their tailflash. Good people to work with and deploy with. I had fun there, especially in Gulfport. Great to see them at the AOR.

Did the Pro-super gig, here. It was crazy at times but rewarding in the end. I enjoyed interacting with all the shops on the flightline, backshops, MOC and Ops. If everyone could see the behind the scenes planning that actually goes on they'd be amazed like I am when it all happens as advertised, or close to it. It's not just turn and burn. It's plan, implement, evaluate, and plan again. It was great seeing it in action at the AOR. Retired 30Jun2011.
Other aircraft/assignments | Worked a year as a gun shop technician on A-7's. Also served about six months in an ABDR squadron. That's about all I could stand of doing nothing. I am positive things have changed since then. |
