Got started as a cocky AB in the 613th. Was the frist new guy they'd had in over a year, so everybody got their turn with me. Got really good at the washrack (still remember the Joes drinking beers during their breaks while "helping" wash the jets). Did a trip to Incirlik for NATO TAC Eval. Volunteered to backfill during Desert Storm with the 614th (The Forgotten 1000), who were an incredibly cool and well bonded group.

Helped start the 389th FS, bickering with the F-111 guys over all sorts of turf. We finally ran them out, and formed the first Composite Wing, comprised of 16s, 15C/E, B52s, and who knows what else. Stayed until I got my orders to Korea.

I swear to god my liver is still recovering. Nothing exciting, except that Kim Il Sung died while I was there.

Ahh, Hill. As a single SrA/SSgt, I volunteered for every TDY I could get my hands on - no matter what the squadron. 3 Red Flags, 2 Green Flags, 1 Crash Recovery Duty in Nellis. Went to Al Jabber, somewhere else, and Kuwait. Somehow got picked to do William Tell 96 (Team ACC), immediately followed by the coolest TDY ever - Santiago, Chile, where Lockheed spared NO expense (and there were many) in trying to sell the Chileans the F-16. Crewed 88-0512, 88-0426 (crashed, pilot error), 88-0537.
