I arrived at Hahn AB Germany(10th TFS) in October 1985 for my first assignment to learn the F16 Crew Chief maintenance. Quickly how fast those two went. Hahn AF Germany was definitely the best kept secret in the AF even tho lots of people would disagree only because you were not stationed there only visiting. I worked on the F-16 from 1985-2001 and then upon being assigned to Shaw AFB in Feb 01 after Moody AFB closed up the 16 world I was assigned to the Mainteance Operation Center (MOC). I moved to the mobility section of the 20AMXS in Jan 2004 and retired in May 2005. Current or Favourite assignmentGreat assignment and wonderful people to work for and with. Being able to travel and see parts of Germany thanks to ITT.DeploymentsNellis AFB June 86ZZA (fair weather deployment Feb 86, Feb 87 Feb 90) Holloman AFB NM (Mar 88,89) Nellis AFB (Green Flag,Red Flag, JEFX 2001) |

Although I was not happy at Hill I enjoyed working on my jet (990) and won Preen Falcon two months in a row and if not political we would have taken it a third time. When the block 40's arrived I got the first one out of the factory (87-350). I loved the tail flash but it was quickly repainted.

Arriving back at Hahn AB it seemed like I was returning home. With only a few changes I had no problems readjusting. I was the assistant crew chief on several aircraft (2087,1301) while assigned here. I deployed to UAE in Feb 91 to replace Jeff Leadbetter so he could return to the US. Arrived back at Hahn in May 01 and PCSed to Ramstein AB in June.

Worked with Joe Love on acft 1473 and later on 0248 when we converted to the big mouth aircraft. Also work in debrief with Darrel and Pam Dixon. had a lot of fun and really learned alot more about the operations of an F16 unit.

Strted out with the 70th FS working with a great bunch of guys and later moved to the 68th when the 70FS was disbanded. In 94 I moved to the 69th as a debriefer and later back to the flightline working on aircraft 89-2171. Greatest D model in the AF inventory.

Lucky me I got orders to Kunsan (UGHH). Really it wasn't as bad as they said but that year couldn't go fast enough. We worked long hours and usually didn't get any credit or recognition for our hard work. Thanks George!!!!

Assigned to the Maintenance Operations Center under the 20th FW, the section changed hands several more times due to the restructing that took place in ACC during the 2001-2003. Later moved to the 20AMXS mobility section in 2004 and remained there until retirement in 2005. |

Hey, Just wondering if this was the same Carla Young I knew back at Hill AFB when I was married to my first husband Ron Mylott.
I believe you were stationed in Korea with my current husband Paul Neumann.
Do you remember Brian King, Lou Riccio, Dexter Soo?
If I have the right person, please let me know.
thanks
