NORDIE THE WAR HORSE- Solid Jet- Right wing tank was slow to feed when I was first assigned to it. Impounded twice for repeat/recur. Changed a tank, did an engine run everyday for a month. Turns out fuel shop CANN'd a bad FFP. They put in a new one in and she flew like a champ afterwards. Had a cabin pressure problem when she first got to Iraq in '04 but once the cabin pressure regulator was changed she was a code 1 machine. Flew 500+ hours on that deployment. Nordie had the mysterious B system steals from A system problem.

I didn't crew this jet for very long or give it much attention.

Good jet. Leaky engine but flew great otherwise.

This jet was one of a handful of block 50s that came from Cannon to Misawa late in 2007 when they shut down the 27 FW. This was the first aircraft that I was DCC of. I cleaned her up real nice and she flew great for the short time I had her.

Pretty new jet. It never gave me problems. Took it to phase and the left stab box was corroded. I guess that didn't turn out too well, Harp. Stab bearing changes were a nightmare after that TCTO dropped. |
