Entered the U.S.A.F. in 1981, assigned to the 1st SOW at Hurlburt Field, Florida as a Pneudraulic Systems Machanic "bubble chaser".
Worked on AC-130H "Gunship", MC-130E "Combat Talon", UH-1N and HH-53 "Pave Low" Helicoptors.

In 1983 PCS to Kadena A.B. Okinawa, Japan. Assigned to the 18th Fighter Wing, 67th AMU as a "bubble chaser" on F-15C/D's. I was able to crew during the 1986 "William Tell" Air to Air weapons meet.

1987 PCS to Holloman A.F.B. New Mexico, assigned to the 434th TFTS as a "bubble chaser" working T-38A/B's. In 1988 left the Airforce.

In 1989 went to work for DynCorp at Columbus A.F.B., Mississippi where I worked on T-37/38's in the post dock section. We got the planes ready for "FCF". Thanks Major Sandy Avery.

It was in 1991 I took a job with McDonnell Douglas working on F-15C/D's at Khamis Mushyt, Saudi Arabia as a "bubble chaser".

In 1996 enlisted in the Alabama Air National Guard as an F-16C/D crew chief. Started on the phase dock and a couple a years later was hired on the flightline and was assigned 87-0336. Became the 1st Sergeant for the AMXS (additional duty).

In the year of 2005 took an AGR position as a fuel shop supervior and returned to crewing jets in 2010 where I was assigned 87-0222 and 87-0336.


Current or Favourite assignment

The 160th F.S. was the first unit to drop GBU-38's in combat. We were the first unit to drop bombs during "Operation Iraqi Freedom".
During OIF for us was all guard!

"City of Enterprise", had the nose art of "Little Miss". Flew 36 code 1's in a row. Assigned pilot was Major Brian "Wolfman" Wolf who died in the prime of his life in a car accident. Assigned pilot was Major Tony "PSYCO" Ruehl. Droppped 2 GBU-12's during ONW and 17 GBU-12's and 1 JDAM during OIF. I left crewing and took a postion as the fuel shop supervisior.

"City of Birmingham", Assigned Pilot Lt. Col. Lance "Zap" Glidden. Has the nose art of "Lighting Strick Twice". Recieved the jet from Springfield, Oh. It was known as the "Mystery Machine".

Felix "The Cat" Gordon gave me this jet back. From 2005-10 served as the Wing jet sporting the VIPER tail flash. It went to depot and was thier for 2 and 1/2 years due to a bulk head that was damaged during a modification. The assigned pilot will be Major Prokop "Chester" and it will have its bomb marking and a new nose art in the future!
