Flew into the Gulf of Mexico.

Flew into the Gulf of Mexico with the pilot, Captain Larry Edward Lee, being killed. The accident happened during the early AMRAAM program. While flying over the Gulf of Mexico at approximately 2500 ft and Mach 1.5, the pilot was performing 9G wind up turns to stress the aircraft and weapon system. The engine exploded and departed the aircraft through the backbone. Capt. Lee ejected at over Mach 1 breaking both arms causing him to drown. The aircraft was recovered from the Gulf of Mexico where it was inspected to determine the cause of the accident.

Engine failed over the Avon Range. Aircraft was low altitude and speeds greater than Mach so pilot pulled back on stick to gain altitude. After several unsuccessful attempts to re-light the engine, the pilot was forced to eject. It is suspected, not confirmed, that the aircraft ingested a bird. The remains of the aircraft were returned to base for investigation.

Collided with #79-0367 and although extensively damaged it was able to land at Gila Bend AP.

Destroyed after a mid-air collision with the Fighter Wing Commanders aircraft #79-0365. Because of the collission it lost its vertical stab, went out of control and crashed in a dry-wash near Gila Bend. The pilot ejected safely.

Caught in a heavy cross wind landing at Skrydstrup AB. The pilot, Lieutenant C. S. Hansen, was unable to hold the aircraft on the runway. Aircraft went off the runway and nose gear was torn off. After repair the aircraft was back in service by June 30th, 1986.

Crashed into the North Sea just off the coast off Doggersbank, Netherlands. The pilot, 1st lt. Marcel Bijmoer, ejected safely and was rescued.

Crashed near Petit-Han, Belgium. Collided with a French Jaguar A (A116/11-MW) of the 2/11 'Escadron de Chasse'. Captain Jack Cavanas ejected safely but his french counterpart, Capt. Michel Prunas, didn't survive the accident

Crashed during a low-level aerobatic maneuver. Lt. Col. Yosef Eliel didn't escape. He most probably misjudged the top altitude during a low-level loop.
