At the time we had the oldest jets in the fleet. My first jet, 0089 (block 10, B model), the right LEF underwing caught on fire during a maintenance run on dayshift. The crew chief running it turned on SMS (wasn't suppose to), and the weapons sys wiring harness caught fire. It was put out by an Avionics specialist. The entire wiring harness in the LEF was charred. Worked with a great bunch of people at the 311th.
