422nd Test & Evaluation Squadron "Green Bats" , 1992 - 1995
I was the First Dedicated Crew Chief on this aircraft. It was assigned to Viper in December 1992 with only 2.5 flight hours, directly from Fort Worth. This aircraft is the first Block 52 D-Model Aircraft the USAF has ever owned. On the same date 90-0839 was delivered, 90-0809 came in as well. I was so exited when the aircraft were taxiing into Row 43 spot 1 at Nellis AFB, that since I normally worked on Row 44 I forgot where I was and I was telling the pilot to turn right instead of left and into the parking spot. Of course, there were hundreds of people out there and many of them noticed my mistake and laughed! Of course, I laughed as well, when I realized how silly I must have looked! It was ok, though, I got me a new jet for Christmas!!!!
