Crew Chief Profile
16th Weapons Squadron "Tomahawks" , 1979 - 1980
This was the first Belgian F-16 at Hill AFB, I got to help train Belgian crew chief and pilots during the jets stay at Hill AFB. This was one of the better F-16A model jets it stayed in the air. As I remember it never failed in the air. However it did get caught up in the IFR door light problem. When IFR door is open the wing tanks would not tranfer on early block models. The door did not have a idiot light to tell the pilots it was open. Hill had one pile in at the end of the runway because of this. Very shortly we install some wires, lights and software to cure this problem. I could go on but why everyone know the early malfunction, GD!!!

Crew Chief Profile
349th squadron "Mace" , 1983 - 349
The first FWIT took place at Ryge Norway in 1983, the first part of it was in Kleine Brogel. I crewed the FA03 with Cpn James Derouck from 349 Sqn as my pilot. It was nice to meet and work close together with the other F-16 EPAF crews from the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway for the first time. Later I was happy to participate in the others at Aalborg, Sola, Skrydstrup and Orland. On the 7th of July I also had the occasion to get a 30min flight with a Huey Bell from the RNoAF, low level over the fjords of beautiful Norway arround Ryge.
